Company

Hepta Medical is a 10-person MedTech start-up developing an innovative thermal ablation device designed to treat early-stage lung cancer.

By combining temperature sensors with image processing, the system aims to offer an alternative to surgical techniques. By monitoring temperature locally, it enables more precise control over the size of the ablated area, ultimately providing patients with a safer, less invasive, and more effective treatment.

Following a €10 million Series A funding round in 2025, Hepta Medical launched a clinical trial program in Europe in 2026. The first clinical trial was completed at the end of September 2026, and the system is now fully operational. The company is currently developing a new version of the device, which is scheduled for clinical testing in 2027.

In 2024, Hepta Medical won both the Jury Prize and the Public Choice Award at the SNITEM Innovative Medical Device Start-up Competition. SNITEM is the leading professional association representing France’s medical device industry.

Verification tests (45%): Apply established test protocols in the laboratory, contribute to occasional protocol setup.

Prototype optimization and data analysis (30%):

  • Following the development of a first catheter version, contribute to optimizing the prototype to make it more flexible and robust, capable of navigating pulmonary bronchial pathways and providing improved real-time ablation control. You will take part in the testing and support the design and validation phases in collaboration with the manufacturers.
  • You will participate in data analysis tasks, including handling datasets in Python.

Bench testing for preclinical preparation (20%): Prepare and execute preclinical tests in a hospital environment, applying experimental protocols in accordance with applicable medical device regulations and carrying out a wide range of additional laboratory manipulations.

Perform scientific literature review (5%): Compare experimental results with published data to ensure alignment with the current state of the art.
